Bird observation tower at Calis

An area of Calis has been designated as a natural park and bird sanctuary, it is a wetland area and over 214 species of birds have been spotted here as it is on a migratory route. The first of 3 observation towers has now been erected and enthusiastic birdwatchers from all over are showing a huge interest in the area. Don't forget the winter weather here is mild all year and a holiday to enjoy some bird watching is just as attractive in these winter months as it is in the summer season.

In the hot summer months you can also observe birds up in the mountains, some of the species seen are Crimson-winged Finch, Serin, Redfronted Serin, Linnet, Rock and Spanish Sparrows, Woodchat, Shrikes, Rock Nuthatch plus a whole lot more and then there are the larger birds such as Long Legged Buzzard, Raven, Chough, Short-toed and Bonellis Eagles, Peregrine Eagle Owl, Ruddy Sheldrake and Crane.

A lot of our villas are available during the winter months at very reasonable rates .Just contact us for any information.
