Fethiye
8 kilometres from Hisaronu the old market town and fishing port of Fethiye is situated between wooded mountains and wide blue bay dotted with tiny islands. It stands on the site of the ancient Lycian city of Telmessos and there are impressive rock tombs here worth a visit.
The weekly market is a must to visit and enjoy the hustle bustle of real Turkish life, it is a joy to experience the local people haggling with the tourists and competing with each other, they are the most friendly people you will ever meet.
Alternatively there are lots of small Turkish shops lining the traditional narrow cobbled streets of the old town. Here you can find many restaurants and small bars that lead down to the picturesque harbour where many more restaurants line the promenade where you can sit and watch the boats. From here you can go on a day trip which will take you around the islands which lay off our beautiful coastline.
